Research Facilities :
1. Central
Laboratories
In addition to the
modern laboratory equipments found in the
laboratories of the Institute, NIOF has three
central laboratories located and operating, one
at each of its branches as follows:
-
The
Mediterranean Sea branch in Alexandria hosts a
central laboratory for the analyses of organic
pollutants (pesticides, detergents and oil) and
inorganic pollutants (heavy metals).
-
The Inland Water
and Aquaculture Branch in Kanater City hosts a
central laboratory for the analyses of inorganic
pollutants (heavy metals)
-
The Red Sea and
Gulfs of Aqaba and Suez Branch in Suez City
hosts a central laboratory for inorganic
pollutants (heavy metals) analyses.
-
These
Laboratories are equipped with modern
instruments, such as atomic absorption
spectrophotometers, X-ray defractometers and
other sophisticated equipment. Highly qualified
and trained expert researchers operate these
equipments.
-
The Central laboratories
extend their services to universities, research
institutes, government enterprises and the
private sector in Egypt and in the Arab World
